The existing complex comprises several buildings of varying ages, offering both full-time care and accessible living options, alongside supplementary facilities. However, large parts of the current structures no longer meet contemporary standards for a modern care, support, and living concept, particularly concerning layouts, room sizes, accessibility, technical systems, energy efficiency, and fire safety. The project's central objective is the construction of a new nursing home, designed to provide approximately 150 full-time care places organised into manageable residential groups. Additionally, existing buildings (House 2 and House 3) will undergo renovation and conversion for new uses, primarily to create housing for staff and students, with the potential for a day-care centre. The scope of work also includes the reorganisation of internal and external access, functional integration of the building sections, and the design of inviting outdoor areas for residents, staff, and visitors. The foundation also aims to open up the complex more to the surrounding neighbourhood.
