Organized by RIBA as part of its VitrA 2026 programme, the event features multi-award-winning architects Caruso St John. Renowned for their inventive work with older buildings since the 1990s, the practice now prioritizes reworking existing structures as a core environmental and creative strategy, demonstrating a path forward for environmentally responsible architecture that integrates memory, meaning, and identity.<\/p>\n<p>Caruso St John will share their leading approach to transforming remarkable historic sites. This includes 20th-century corporate landmarks like the Royal Belge in Belgium, industrial sites such as the 19th-century D\u00fcngerbau chemical factory in Switzerland, and Veemgebouw in the Netherlands\u2014all reimagined for contemporary mixed use and community life. They will also present their work on creative and cultural spaces, including the Hospitalfields arts complex in Scotland.
