This commission will focus on HMP Barlinnie in Glasgow, HMP Castle Huntly near Dundee, and HMP Perth. These strategies will serve as practical, significance-led management tools, guiding the maintenance, repair, operation, adaptation, and future decision-making processes for these important listed buildings. The scope of work includes reviewing baseline information, conducting building and fabric surveys, structural appraisals, and significance assessments. Suppliers will also prepare condition surveys, defect registers, and marked-up drawings illustrating significance and risk. Key deliverables involve developing prioritised action plans (short to long term), providing maintenance and operational guidance for estates teams, and offering advice on statutory consent and engagement with Historic Environment Scotland and relevant planning authorities.
