The current three-storey building, constructed in 1985 using pre-fabricated panels (WBS70 type), is in need of renovation and suffers from significant accessibility issues and an inefficient layout due to its vertical distribution across three floors. The new facility, planned for completion between 2029 and 2031, will accommodate 160 children and 27 staff, including six kindergarten groups and three nursery groups. At least one nursery and one kindergarten group, along with their associated spaces, must be fully accessible. Designs for one or two-storey buildings will be considered equally, with a maximum of two storeys requiring a passenger\/goods lift. The chosen design must allow the existing building to remain operational during the construction phase, meaning the new build cannot occupy the existing footprint. The demolition of the old building is not part of this competition. The project has a budget of approximately \u20ac6.8 million gross for building and technical installation costs (Cost Groups 300 + 400 according to DIN 276) and is expected to receive funding from the \"Social Cohesion\" urban development programme.
