Architect led multi-disciplinary framework for architectural services for University estate in Ireland.
The University is seeking architect led design teams for a two year multi-operator framework agreement. Call-off contracts will be issued for refurbishment and new build works.
The University of Galway was established as Queen’s College Galway in 1845, and is a constituent university of the National University of Ireland. It is one of Ireland’s foremost centres of academic excellence. With over 18,000 students, it has a long-established reputation of teaching and research excellence in the Colleges of Arts, Social Sciences, and Celtic Studies; Business, Public Policy and Law; Engineering and Informatics; Medicine, Nursing & Health Sciences, and Science. The main city campus is adjacent to Galway city centre and extends along the western bank of the River Corrib for a distance of 2.8Km. It is over 128 hectares in area (main campus and satellite locations) and has 118 individual buildings of various age with the first of the buildings constructed in 1845.
The purpose of this procurement is to establish a framework for both Lot 1 (Project Control Team) and Lot
2 (Single Point Design Team) to deliver capital development projects.

Submission Criteria
6-8 candidates will be invited to tender.
Qualification requires:
– Declaration on financial standing (min. turnover €3.6m) and insurances (min. €5m PII and
€13m Employer’s Liability)
– Qualifications/CVs of key personnel to be involved in the project
– Detailed team organogram
– List of services from the last seven years
– Quality statement
Minimum Requirements:
(i) Refurbishment project with a construction value of at least €10m.
(ii) Completed project completed on a Higher Education campus of at least €15m.
(iii) Completed project (commercial/residential) in a city/urban multi-storey setting with a
construction value of at least €15m
(iv) Completed project including new build or refurbishment works of a highly serviced
science laboratory/healthcare/medical facility of at least €10m
(v) Completed project including substantial heritage/conservation works of at least €10m.
(vi) Completed student or residential accommodation project of at least €25m.
(vii) Completed project including construction in a live/occupied building of at least €15m
(viii) Architect services on one project using CWMF Public Works Contracts PW-CF1 or PWCF2
with construction value of at least €15m.
