Territorial Technical Centre La Courneuve
An invited design competition for a new technical centre for the Eastern territorial department of Plaine Commune in Paris.
The site is very constrained, and adjacent to the A86 motorway between the Pleyel crossroads sector and Saint-Denis and the A1 motorway in La Courneuve. It previously hosted a Viandox factory of the Liebig food company, which remained in operation until the early 1970s, when all the premises were demolished in preparation for the construction of the motorway.
The new building will be home to a combination of office accommodation, wit service and maintenance areas for vehicles, in a new landscaped environment. One of the architectural challenges is to assert the presence of the Eastern territorial technical centre, while integrating perfectly into the surrounding urban fabric. This project will help to enhance the image of the neighbourhood and the EPT Plaine Commune, by qualitatively maintaining the corner of the streets of Geneva and Valmy, and limiting its logistical character as much as possible.
