National Choreography Centre, Tours
Ville de Tours is looking for an architect led design team a new building for the Center Choreography National De Tours.
This project originally went out to competition in 2018, which was won by Lina Ghotmeh - who took the project designs up to consented status, but it was eventually shelved for reasons of affordability. The town is now seeking a more cost-effective solution for the site through a new competition.
The centre is intended to serve as a national-level cultural facility, contributing to the cultural landscape of Tours and designed to reflect the city’s programmatic ambitions, including sustainability and environmental integration. The total usable area for the building is approximately 1,455 m². The key components of the National Choreographic Centre:
- Large Studio for Performances
- Small Studio for Education and Rehearsals
- Public Reception Area
- Administrative Offices
- Technical Stage Areas
- Logistics and Technical Premises
- Scenographic and Sound Equipment
- Small Exterior Space
